I found this website today. The site is mygamestock.com, and what they do is sell "value-added services" to the online gaming community.
For example, say you play WoW (World of Warcraft). You can log on to My Game Stock, give them $40, and they will transfer $1000.00 to your Warcraft character. If in WoW you are in the "Black Dragonflight-A," (I don't know what this means), for $369.53, they will give you 2000 gold. Check it out. I guess if you are in one of these various groups, the cost of buying gold pieces varies.
This is pretty wild. Throwing down real money so a real person can have pretend money to buy pretend things for their pretend character in a virtual environment populated. I mean, that's dedication for you. Buying a videogame for $50, then dropping $300+ so you can have 2000gold pieces for that game. You've got to be Hard Core to do that.
This company also does similar purchases for EverQuest 2, Final Fantasy VII, Dungeon's & Dragons Online, and Guild Wars.
I still don't get online gaming. Paying a monthly fee to have other people kick your butt and trash talk you. I tried playing Star Wars Galaxies, but it wasn't very fun. And you run into these other "real" people, but no one really talks to you.
Whatever. Well, if you're an online gaming nerd [no, i'm an OFFline gaming nerd], the gamestock place might be for you.
My husband, daughter, live-in friend and her son, and my close friend in Nebraska, as well as myself, play WoW (World of Warcraft) every single day (on the weekends, until the early morning the next day). If you play, let me know. We play on the Garona server on the Alliance side. :) Would be glad to see another friendly face in game. hehehehe Just drop me an email if so (email is in my personal info).
and yes, I've heard about this new website. It's unreal - paying out real hard-earned money for money that is created by pixels on your computer that you can't use anywhere else. It's just... stupid. But hey, if ya have the money to burn to be able to do that, more power to ya.
