I recently shot high-school sweethearts Angie and Freddie, at Natural Bridges. While we were there, shooting their engagement portraits, there were no less than 6 other photographers doing the same thing. I know Natural Bridges is a popular portrait location, but this bordered on ridiculous. Anyhow, we tried to stay out of there way, and utilized the entire area (not just the beach), and I think we got some really unique portraits.
When we started shooting, Freddie informed me that he wasn't a 'smiler,' and I let him know that however he wanted to take pictures was fine by me, after all, they're going to be his photos. As we started shooting, though, we started smiling and laughing and relaxing. I'm so glad he did, because some of my favorite photos of them, are when he's cracking up.
I absolutely LOVE the shot above. It's a shot that I would frame and put in my own house. I love how the water and ocean look. It's (to me) a very romantic shot. I love the light and the colors of the shot below...
And this is just a fun, unique shot, their reflection in the water...

A more 'standard' engagement portrait, except that non-smiling Freddie is knee deep in water, and cracking up...
We walked down the butterfly path, to get these two below...
Utilizing some of the non-beach area of Natural Bridges. The pond, on the beach...
And back to Natural Bridges. If you're going to shoot an engagement portrait at Natural Bridges, it's criminal to NOT get a few shots in front of the rocks, that the beach is so famous for...
And sunset, right before we left. It's actually amazing how empty the beach looks, considering how many people were there shooting engagement shoots along with us.
