Here's a fun shot Alicia snapped of me.
I've written before about Huston and Nicole, when I first posted their engagement portraits. Well, I'm happy to say, I've finally finished editing their wedding photos, (of which I have many favorites).
I'd never shot a wedding at the Holly Farm (in Carmel, well, actually Carmel Valley) before, and so was thrilled when they asked me to shoot there, because I love shooting in new locations, and even more excited after Nicole and I toured the Holly Farm together. It is an absolutely unique and incredible location for a wedding. (I've linked to their site above, but it realy doesn't do the place justice, it's really stunning.
Anyhow, I really loved this place - the grounds are so gorgeous! So I had a lot of fun shooting, and I think I got some really fun shots. I've posted a few below, but I also created a slideshow, so you can get more of a feel for the day. If you want to see the slideshow, you can do so by clicking here. And there are more photos after the jump. And if you want to see ALL the photos from that day, click here, and it will take you to their collages.net site.
This is the worst cake-fight I've seen all year.
I love the absolute terror on the ring-bearers face...the tie! It's tight!
And then the subsequent terror of the flowers meant for her hair continually breaking (that's when I stepped in and got it to work. I don't write about this a lot, but there's at least one time in every wedding where I step in and help in a non-photographic way, I almost always bustle, or at least have a hand in bustling, I've done make-up, hair, I've helped set things up, I've even helped brides in the toilet, (it's really hard to go to the bathroom by yourself in those massive dresses). And I can't even count the amount of times Alicia has been the go-to girl; fetching, carrying and getting for the bride, groom and bridal party. I don't mind, but it's something that we do a lot, that I haven't really talked about. I'm a jack-of-all trades, when it comes to the wedding day.
The light was SO harsh right here, on this building, but it was so incredible, we shot anyway, despite the hard light.
I LOVE this portrait of Nicole.
Isn't this cute? No tricks, just a great shot.
The sun was perfect for a sillhouette shot.
My favorite kind of portrait, natural and spontaneous laughter.
Dinner time.
Close up of the cake action. She was such a good sport.
